On 8 August 2026, DragoNation joined the CUHK Business School Shenzhen Alumni Association (港中大商學院深圳校友會) for an “AI for Good” networking dinner in Shenzhen, bringing together more than 50 guests — including the latest cohorts of the Dragon 100 programme — for an evening of warm conversation and shared purpose.
Over dinner, the discussion centred on a question that runs through much of DragoNation’s recent work: how can AI be harnessed as a force for social good? Building on the reflections from DragoNation Day 2026, “Inner Discovery in the Age of AI,” guests explored how the goal is not simply to keep pace with technology, but to stay grounded, human and discerning — so that AI becomes a genuine support rather than a rival.
A recurring theme was AI and social mobility. As one framing put it, an AI policy should be judged not only by the scale of its funding, but by whether every young person — especially those from the grassroots — can still reach the sky. Guests spoke candidly about the “sandwich generation” of recent graduates who studied without AI in the classroom, entered the very entry-level roles AI now automates first, and are not yet experienced enough to climb. The conversation turned toward practical responses: connecting industry momentum to youth employment, deepening digital literacy from knowing “how to use” AI to knowing “how to think” with it, and ensuring AI opens doors rather than building walls.
These themes also echo the wider global agenda set out at the UN AI for Good Summit 2026 and the newly launched Global Dialogue on AI Governance — a reminder that the choices made locally, in rooms like this one, are part of a much larger conversation about trusted, equitable and human-centred AI.
